About the Department
Established in 1956, the Department of Geography at Dinabandhu Andrews College, Garia, Kolkata, has been a cornerstone of the institution's academic offerings. Affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the department offers undergraduate programs in Geography, encompassing both Honours and General courses. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of geographical concepts, covering areas such as physical geography, human geography, cartography, and environmental studies. The department emphasizes a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing students for diverse career paths in academia, research, and applied geography.

The faculty includes Assistant Professor Dr. Moumita Nandi, and Guest teachers Dr. Mainul Islam, Sujoy Mondal and Anisha Dawn.
