# Department of Sericulture at Dinabandhu Andrews College

The Department of Sericulture at Dinabandhu Andrews College, established in 1956, is dedicated to imparting specialized knowledge and skills related to sericulture, a field integral to the silk industry and rural economy. Affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the department offers a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Major course in Sericulture, designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the biology, technology, and economics of silk production.

The B.Sc. Major program in Sericulture is structured under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and CCF system, spans three years, divided into six semesters. The curriculum encompasses a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, covering subjects such as sericulture biology, mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, silk processing, and sericulture economics.
