About the Department


Established as a vital component of the science faculty at Dinabandhu Andrews College, the Department of Microbiology has consistently upheld a commitment to academic excellence and research innovation. Affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the department offers undergraduate programs in Microbiology, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of microbial sciences. The curriculum is designed to encompass various aspects of microbiology, including microbial physiology, genetics, immunology, and environmental microbiology, aligning with contemporary scientific advancements.

The faculty includes Associate Professor Dr. Swapna Mukherjee, Assistant Professors Dr. Maitreyee Mondal and Dr. Tanmay Ghosh, and SACT-I faculty members Dr. Ratna China and Subhasree Roy.
