The Department of History at Dinabandhu Andrews College, established in 1956, stands as a cornerstone of the institution's commitment to humanities education. Offering both Honours and General undergraduate courses, the department operates under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and the Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF), adhering to a semester-based academic structure. The faculty comprises experienced educators, including Associate Professors Subhabrata Datta, Shima Dutta, and Dr. Sudarsana Choudhury, as well as Assistant Professor Barnali Burman and several State-Aided College Teachers (SACTs). Notably, faculty members Shima Dutta and Dr. Sudarsana Choudhury have completed UGC-sponsored minor research projects, reflecting the department's commitment to scholarly research.
