ADMISSION TO UNDERGRADUATE COURSES 2016-17

 

[In congruence with Calcutta University Notification No. CS/1683/Adm.(Cir.), dt. 06/05/2016, CS/1658/Adm.(Cir.), dt.13.05.2015 and Government Order No.  908/Edn(CS), dated 11/17.11.2014]

 

 

It is notified for general information of all concerned that the Admission Process to the 1st Yr. undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) courses, 2016-17 will start immediately after the publication of results of Higher Secondary Examination, 2016 conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and will close at 04-00 pm on 02/06/2016. Candidates must apply ONLINE through the college website: www.dacollege.org followed by payment of online Application Fee @Rs.100.00 + Bank Charges @Rs. 10.00 (i.e. Rs. 110/-) Per Application at the designated branches of Axis Bank Ltd.

 

While merit position of individual candidates and the detailed merit list will be available on the college website on 16th June, 2016 after 02-30 p.m., the candidates shall be admitted on and from 21st June, 2016 as per Merit Lists to be published prior to the dates of admission in individual subjects/courses.

 

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UG Courses, 2016-17 [C.U. Notification No. CSR/21/16, dt. 06.05.2016]

 

Candidates who passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2011 and onwards (i.e., in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016) are eligible to seek admission to 1st year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com [General (Pass)/ Honours (Advance) / Major] courses provided he/she has also passed in English having full marks not less than 100.

1.For General (=Pass) Courses

Passed 10+2 level examination from recognized Board/Council AND also passed in English having full marks not less than 100

 

2.For Honours (=Advance) Courses

2.1. For candidates belonging to General Category

 

·        Passed in English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·        Obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is compulsory subject) AND at least 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

OR

 

·        Obtained at least 55% marks in the subject or related subject

 

OR

 

·        Obtained 50% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject) in case the candidate has not  studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination (10+2 level Exam) provided all other criteria are satisfied

2.2. For candidates belonging to SC /ST  Categories

 

·        Passed English having full marks not less than 100

AND

·   Obtained at least 40% marks in aggregate (average marks of best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies/Education if it is a compulsory subject)

·        at least 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the 10+ 2 level

 

N.B. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks.

 

3. Norms for admission to the General (Pass) Courses     (Through Merit Lists only)

Candidates from streams other than Commerce must pass in Mathematics at the 10+2 level.

** Marks in compulsory Environmental studies/Education shall not be taken for calculation of aggregate. If the subject ‘Environmental Science’ is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it can be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks

6. Admission rules for candidates from Vocational Stream & Open School

 

Such candidates are advised to contact the Principal between 25/05/2016 and 28/05/2016 before filling in application form online.

 

7. Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC(A)/OBC(B)/PwD candidates shall be as per Government rules now in force

   

8. Instruction about Online submission of application

 

ONLINE APPLICATION IS VALID ONLY AFTER PAYMENT OF  APPLICATION FEE @RS.100.00 PER APPLICATION + BANK CHARGES @RS. 10.00  (i.e. RS. 110/-) TO THE DESIGNATED BRANCHES OF AXIS BANK.

9. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FEES + BANK CHARGE

 

On clicking the submission button, the system will generate a report. Take the printout of the same and produce it to any branch of Axis Bank for payment of Application Fee @Rs.100.00 per application + Bank Charge @Rs. 10.00  (i.e. Rs. 110/-) per application.

 

After payment of above fees to the designated branches of Axis Bank, the application process shall be completed.

 

10.  Fee Structure (including Calcutta University Registration fees as applicable on date. Registration fees shall be appropriately adjusted as per notification of Calcutta University which may be issued from time to time)
